Lila McAlpin

Lila Mcalpin studied art at the University of Georgia earning a BFA. She has studied figure drawing with Ben Smith and painting with Marc Chatov and has traveled out west to paint with Bill Davidson. Lila has studied extensively with Albert Handell. Lila shows her work at the Harlee Gallery in CK Swan in Highlands North Carolina, the Butler Gallery in Clayton, Georgia, with the Brushwork Society, and in her Atlanta studio.
Lila paints and draw from life, so that she might capture the subtle and intangible qualities that each subject embodies. She enjoys exploring the simple beauty found in everyday objects and familiar scenes; noticing the way light plays on a surface as she captures a fleeting moment in time.
